Pretty Young Thing

September's issue of Harper's Bazaar paid tribute to Michael Jackson with Agyness Deyn wearing his signature studded and sequined look. Though there's nothing groundbreaking about the timeless Ray-Ban Aviators, they are spot on here.

Un Lapin Chic

he always adorable Fifi has donned her SS 08 Temperley best for vacay this week. Reviewing how fantastic that show was, I felt the need to share.

Agy, Agy, Agy

ike any good fashionista, Agyness Deyn wears Linda Farrow sunglasses druing London Fashion Week. Like Corey Hart, she wears her sunglasses at night. [Rumor has it that pink eye was making the rounds among the models backstage.]

WhoWhatWear Daily detailed the specifics of her outfit
, including her Dolce Vita ankle booties.

Not surprisingly, Ms. Deyn is also the face of the collaboration between Linda Farrow and House of Holland.

Mancunian Mania

ry as I might, I'm not yet over Agyness Deyn's cutesy hipster schtick. Should I be?

When WhoWhatWear Says "Sunnies," I Say, "How Bright?"

n my humble, day-to-day blog-reading routine, WhoWhatWear Daily is a staple. Their site is consistently polished and on-trend. Plus, they sweat Peaches Geldof like I sweat Peaches Geldof.

So when they recommend a pair of sunglasses, I take note, especially when they're designed by Karl Lagerfeld.

I was feeling oversaturated by wayfarers when Mr. Lagerfeld's SS 08 Collection came out, but now I am a bit remorseful for having not included the original runway show photos.

Please to enjoy:

I'm Looking Through You

ow do I love Style.com's LookBooks?

Let me count the ways: one, StylistBlair.

Blair's got some great picks in her Super Star Glasses lookbook. Like good old Agy in Luella.

I dug that Autumn/Winter 2007 show too. [See: UPDATED -- Luella's Catwalk]

I Love Me Some Agyness Dean

ommy Hilfiger is really trying to make open-toed Oxford pumps happen and I wish he wouldn't. But he showed some great shoes at one of New York's last Fashion Week shows.

As always, Agyness Deyn (far left) looks fantastic in whatever sunnies they throw on her.

Discotheque Confusion: Choose or Lose

ere at FlashyShades, we've been a bit fixated on the Chanel 5018 sunglasses: from their runway debut on Agyness Deyn to magazine editorials featuring Ashley Olsen to their many Nicole Richie paparazzi shots.

Yet somehow, we missed this sighting of Pharrell Williams donning the Chanel shades. Who owns the look, Nicole or Pharrell? Make your way over to one of our favorites, Discotheque Confusion, to cast your vote.

They are the Chanel 5018's.

Nicole is cute these days, but Agyness Deyn wears them best.

UPDATE: Luella's Catwalk

n my opinion, the endearingly goofy pictures taken backstage at fashion shows are often much more interesting than the actual runway photos. I came across this one of dear old Agyness Deyn on Fashionista, modeling those bold cat-eye frames and had to share.

They're a bit more dramatic than I had pictured from the runway shots, no? [See: Luella's Catwalk]

Fashionista's "The Girls of Luella!" post has more terrific behind-the-scenes snaps. The blog itself is totally bookmark-worthy.

Luella's Catwalk

ew York has come down with its seasonal case of runway fever!

Luella, who has been one of the main advocates of spring's wayfarer trend, has gone and upped the ante again. Following with the current trend of bright and bold colors, she sent her models down the runway wearing cat-eye frames in every shade of the rainbow. Below, Irina Lazareanu, Hilary Rhoda, and Agyness Deyn coordinate their eyewear and their London finery.

I love that Ms. Bartley's shows consistently feature eyewear (she also seems to have some of the best models on the block). Apparently, I'm not the only one taken with her showing:
"An energetic, youthful look at London’s nightlife also appeared on the runway in the form of super slim mod suits, bright bubble dresses and mini skirts, and by way of loud graphic prints like the “Love, Love, Love” t-shirt, which we’re sure will become a club kid staple by the time it hits stores. Bartley also played with the character behind the refined English girl, showing darling bow details, pleated skirts, and ruffled petticoat hems but with added edge, like oversized satchels in tow and big sunglasses as accessories.

Speaking of sunglasses, fellow Brit Anna Wintour sat front row for Luella’s across-the-pond tribute, in her signature shades and gave a warm smile of approval at the show’s close."

If your need for cat-eye frames is so dire that it cannot wait until the fall, you can also consider Yves Saint Laurent's take on them:

Cost: $240
Colors: Black, Gradiant Burgundy

Here's To... Agyness Deyn

he model that seems to most resonate with the current fashion moment is none other than Agyness Deyn. No one wears the bob so well and no other face makes androgyny quite so pretty.

Ms. Deyn is featured in January's W:
"Up-and-comer Agyness Deyn tries on the new androgyny in this month's W. A Mert and Marcus spread has the pixie-haired poser sporting everything from an Alexander McQueen dress with padded hips to a pencil-slim Dior Homme suit." [Source: Style.com]
Here she is wearing a black silk jacket and white cotton poplin shirt by Dior Homme and Selima Vintage sunglasses.

Selima, of course, refers to optician and designer Selima Salaun. Ms. Deyn's pair do not seem to be available online. [Source: SelimaOptique.com]

Selima locations in New York:
• SOHO • 59 Wooster Street • New York, NY 10012 • Tel. (212) 343 9490
• MIDTOWN • 899 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10021 • Tel. (212) 988 6690
• W.VILLAGE • 357 Bleeker Street, New York, NY 10014 • Tel. (212) 352 1640

Ms. Deyn's bone structure makes her an excellent model for sunglasses. Even in Lanvin's oversized wayfarer style, she wears the shades and not vice versa. Here are some pictures of her having some fun with the shades backstage at their Spring/Summer '07 show.
