Celebrity Skin

Courtney Love's new personal style blog is both the best and the most unnecessary thing to hit the internet's airwaves in forever. Whatcourtneyworetoday.com is as inappropriately entertaining as you'd expect, with "CLo" bizarrely oversharing her designer gear, etsy flair and, occasionally, granny panties. I'm sort of hoping this leads to haul videos.

Yesterday's posted pictures feature Courtney in Tom Ford aviators, which I'd guess are the Tom Ford FT 0110 Andres model. The 0110s are available on allureaid.com for $282 currently.

Shopbop Does Spring 2010

Shopbop's seasonal Trend Reports are my go-to before any big new purchases. So I was psyched to see what they had in store for us in the coming months.

For spring's "This American Life" updated preppy look, they're showing Ray-Ban New Clubmaster sunglasses. Which I love. Shopbop has the Clubmasters in tortoise, black, red and white for $139.

The "Desert Tribes" look featured a few pairs of sunnies, including the shield-like Marc Jacobs Aviators (MJSUN20036) for $325.

Happy Spring!

Bloggy Love: Sunglasses from Stella McCartney

When one considers the amount of new sunglasses launches from seriously cool brands being released for Spring 2010 (Jason Wu, Tory Burch and Alexander Wang, for starters), its easy to forget the classics. New York extolled the virtues of this season's Stella McCartney sunglasses, including those gorgeous aviators.

1. She's morphed classic shapes ever so slightly to make them just hip enough to look new and right for now.
2 The prices for designer shades can run high, but hers are definitely reasonable.
3. Her pals love them: Gwyneth, Gwen, and Sofia Coppola, to name but a few.
4. Her use of color in the frames is not overpowering and adds glamour to the face.
5. Gotta love an accessory that's going to last years and not months in your wardrobe. What a concept!

Why not? I suggest the white Carrera Safari Aviators for flouting the rules.

Pretty Young Thing

September's issue of Harper's Bazaar paid tribute to Michael Jackson with Agyness Deyn wearing his signature studded and sequined look. Though there's nothing groundbreaking about the timeless Ray-Ban Aviators, they are spot on here.

Pick up the classic pair on ray-ban.com for $129.

Obsessed

Shopbop's "Obsessions: Fall Edition" lists the 19 products most coveted by its merchandisers and editors. And what list would be complete without a little Lanvin?

Their Editor lists Lanvin Framed Aviators among their most obsession-worthy for fall, saying: "Metal accents give these an industrial edge. So cool!" Shopbop has them in black or tortoise for $350.

The incomparable Cindy Crawford. If she can so effortlessly return to editorial photoshoots -- in November's French Vogue, no less -- who's to say I can't return to good old flashy?

To get Cindy's always cool aviator look for a steal, try a pair of Free People Iris's Aviators. They're currently marked down and can be yours for less than $10 -- who should be without?. Seriously, Free People always delivers the goods.

Queen of the Neon

Chris Brown-less Rihanna was photographed lunching in L.A. with her puppy and her Roberto Cavalli sunglasses. Is that a tattoo
inside her ear, I see?

Check out Rihanna's RC 298s Centauro sunglasses, which are $315 on sunglassesitaly.com.

Flying Jolie

eviewing many of the photos of the goings and comings of starlets at the New York Fashion Week tents, none seem as effortlessly chic as Angelina Jolie navigating the terminals of Heathrow.

Gucci 2785 aviators are a natural fit for taking to the skies. You can get your own for $175 at PerfumeFreeZone; they retail for $325 elsewhere.

Posh Redux

promise I will take a much needed Victoria Beckham break soon, but the full text of her L.A. Times profile just became available online and I just can't help but note that she is the coolest.

"Settling in for her first sit-down interview since her soccer stud husband signed a $250-million deal in January to play with the L.A. Galaxy, she orders a glass of Champagne and asks if it would be all right if she keeps her sunglasses on."

Sweet Monogram, Knoxville

he second installation of the Jackass franchise premiered in Australia last week. The cast was relatively well-behaved for the red carpet and the director revealed that Number Two would be the last film.
"This is it for Jackass, as far as we're concerned... I'm not going to say never but right now we don't have a plan. This is our last hurrah as far as we know."

Thank goodness! I worry about the safety of Johnny Knoxville's pretty face.

At the premiere, he showed how nice he cleans up and managed to look cool wearing sunglasses to an evening event. Mr. Knoxville put a new spin on the monogram with his personalized aviators.

While there is an entire site (see www.sunglassengraving.com) devoted to this craft, somehow I suspect his Mr. Knoxville's initials were etched by Party Boy in a depraved and hilarious manner.
