Landing yet another significant campaign, Crystal Renn has replaced Amber Valletta as the face of Jimmy Choo this season.
Congratulations to Crystal, can't wait to see the whole campaign.

Return of the Super: Amber Valletta for Jimmy Choo FW 2010
Arched: Prada FW 10
Prada's FW 2010 campaign was front and center in my new Vogue and I was excited to see their "eyebrow" eyewear made the cut (on the left hand side).

Below, a peek back at their debut in the Prada Fall/Winter show held this February.

The Dark Arts: Alexander McQueen and Tom Ford Campaigns
The most interesting eyewear campaigns for Fall 2010, in my opinion, are Alexander McQueen and Tom Ford's. Both border on the macabre. And both are successfully awesome because of it.
Freja Beha is as pretty as ever as the face of the Tom Ford campaign, which was shot by the designer and inspired by the Hitchcock classic The Birds.
I like these shots quite a bit, but if I'm honest, I could do without the nipple-biting raven one. Ow.
The Alexander McQueen ads, starring only a human skull, are pitch perfect. Well played.

Fall 2010: Red or Dead
FYI: smart money has all things red as a significant trend this fall. Don't believe me? Ask Dolce & Gabbana.
Their fall 2010 campaign features Vlada Roslyakova, Olga Sherer and Zuzana Gregorova in every shade of fluorescent leopard print imaginable and Carmen Miranda-worthy headgear. And red-framed sunglasses.

Fall Campaign Preview: Céline
Images from Céline's Fall 2010 campaign have emerged, featuring Sigrid Agren and Emma Balfour in supersized wayfarers and glammed-up retro cat-eyes. Just as last season, the ads were shot by Juergen Teller in his signature aesthetic: intentional overexposure with tons of white space.

You decide: Is the Teller campaign style overdone? Or do his raw shots allow the clothes to steal the show?

The fall campaigns show a simpler, but still sexy, look for the house that Gianni built. Photographed by Mario Testino.

The Freshest Face: Lindsey Wixson
The new face of the Spring 2010 Miu Miu campaign, Lindsey Wixson, has caused quite a stir. She's been shot by Steven Meisel for Italian Vogue, cast as the opener for Prada and profiled in W. And she's 15.
More than a little alarmed by her early entrance into modeling, but still kind of love what Miu Miu's doing with the eyewear ads.

Today in Twitter
Catching up on my Twitter today, I was stoked to come across a preview of Tory Burch's eyewear collection (scheduled to debut in November), which came straight from the source:

Who says Twitter's a waste of time? Now, we'll have to keep an eye out for the campaign and update accordingly.
At our eyewear shoot in the meatpacking district. Our model Hana looks amazing! TB

Lara Stone: Suddenly a Super
You've really got to hand it to Lara Stone, who is the cover model for and profiled in ("Fashion's It Girl") this month's W. Here in New York, she has been praised as "the anti-model" by Cathy Horyn, but she is perhaps best known for being the only model featured in the "all-Lara" February 2009 edition of French Vogue. In fact, editress Carine Roitfeld has described her as a muse, saying: “Sometimes a girl just touches you.”
That said, let's take a look back at some of Lara's flashier moments. Below, her campaign in 2007 as the face of Givenchy, where she made her major modeling debut.

If Your Future's Not So Bright, You Gotta Wear Shades
"They Go Well With Falling Stocks
PERHAPS, like falling hemlines, it’s an indication of a slowed economy, but this season, sunglasses are looking like face shields. Bernhard Willhelm’s collaboration with Linda Farrow yielded space goggles; and for his first eyewear collection, Martin Margiela offers a solid strip of polycarbonate across the eyes and nose. These Calvin Klein frames, like Yoko Ono’s signature Porsche wraparounds, resemble safety glasses, and that’s exactly the appeal. The future may not be bright. You may want to wear these shades. Sunglasses, $750 at Calvin Klein."[Source: NYTimes]

f recent ad campaigns are to be believed, big is back. Was it ever really gone, though?
