The Spring/Summer 2011 Versace campaign stars the lovely January Jones and is shot by -- who else? -- Mario Testino.

Throwbacktion: Jeremy Scott X Linda Farrow

On one of my go-to photo Tumblrs, Suicide Blonde, I stumbled upon this Mario Testino shot for the March 2008 UK Vogue. Natalia Vodianova is pictured wearing the outlandish flip-up Jeremy Scott X Linda Farrow "Oh Mickey" sunglasses. Though Natalia is striking, SB rightly notes that the Mickeys real claim to fame is their appearance in the music videos for "Paparazzi" (on Lady Gaga) and "Telephone" (on Beyonce).

The Mickey's are currently sold out on both the Opening Ceremony and Linda Farrow websites -- an impressive feat given their retail price of $460. Knockoffs abound on ebay, however, for those determined to get the look (or to really nail their Gaga Halloween costume).

Free Bird

Just a quick post on this day off, as they are few and far between. Sienna Miller, in the awe-inspringly large September Vogue, donning feathers for a shoot in Rome with Mario Testino. Below, she wears the sunglasses from the Chanel haute couture runway show.

Dodging the paparazzi (named after Paparazzo, the photographer character in Fellini's La Dolce Vita), Italian actor-heartthrob Riccardo Scamarcio gives a quilled Miller a lift, incognito-style. Armani Privé black-and-fuchsia feather jacket. TSE cashmere-and-silk tank. OMO Norma Kamali leggings. Chanel Haute Couture sunglasses. On Scamarcio: Miu Miu black suit and white shirt.

Even Prettier in Glossy

loved seeing Angelina Jolie's lovely visage in the new St. John campaign when the images hit the web last month, but seeing the Mario Testino shot in its two-page glory is something else. However much they're paying her, its not enough.

Shades on a Chain

veryone has a story of the sunglasses that got away: the pair you left in a taxi, at a friend's beachhouse, on the sink of a bar bathroom, etc. The ones you really hated to see go.


Recently, I have seen a few products that might save you a pair of your prized flashy shades. And by products, I mean jewelry.

New York Magazine introduced these lovely numbers to me back in May, (but now I see they have been name-dropped everywhere from Vogue to The Financial Times and House and Garden) and while I haven't lost any shades this summer, I would have appreciated not schlepping around my sunglasses case all day everyday.

"Fashion photographer Mario Testino bought 50 to give as Christmas presents. Rod Stewart wore one on the cover of one of his albums. And Brad Pitt sported one in "Ocean's Twelve."

If I were in their marketing department, I might play down that Rod Stewart connection. But look! At right, here's his Bradness wearing them now. (Does it look like he's been pounding red wine?)
