Anna Dello Russo: Prada for Days

She's wearing more Prada than you can shake a stick at, but I was pumped to see Vogue Japan's Editor-at-Large Anna Dello Russo wearing the colorblocked "eyebrow" Prada sunglasses at the shows in Milan and Paris. She actually pulls them off really well, but could anyone else?

PS:  Entire style blogs chronicle ADR's endless and extravagant wardrobe of straight-from-the-runway flash, but her own site, annadellorusso.com, is kind of amazing. "I don't want to be cool, I want to be fashion!"

Arched: Prada FW 10

Prada's FW 2010 campaign was front and center in my new Vogue and I was excited to see their "eyebrow" eyewear made the cut (on the left hand side).

Below, a peek back at their debut in the Prada Fall/Winter show held this February.

Times: "Love Your Sunglasses (Should I Know You?)"

Its fair to say that the New York Times profile on the prevalence of sunglasses made my day. Possibly my week.

They showcased a few terrific pairs of sunglasses, including some FlashyShades favorites: the Christian Dior CD DIOR 60 S1 and Jimmy Choo JJ.

My favorite pair highlighted is the Balenciaga 0015s. They retail for $360, but save yourself one hundred and twenty bucks by ordering them on otticanet.com for $240.

"Prices for designer sunglasses have jumped to $350 or more in recent months, from an average of $250, retailers say, and the price spike has not turned off shoppers. “The youth of America has discovered sunglasses to be the aspirational and prestige item of the moment,” said Marshal Cohen, a senior analyst with the NPD Group, a market research firm. He predicts, “Sunglasses will replace the handbag as the image item” among teenage girls and young women...

Designers are playing into shoppers’ desire to be recognized, at least by those in the know, by downplaying big logos and incorporating more subtle signals of provenance. Bottega Veneta offers frames with woven leather insets that are recognizable to connoisseurs of the house’s hand-woven leather goods. Prada butterfly frames echo the motifs of the brand’s recent runway collections. Chrome Hearts frames are embellished with sterling bolo designs and leather trim reflective of the company’s rough-rider image."

Milan...

y how time (between blog posts) flies when you are moving apartments! [For more on the horrors of moving, check out Lizze.] Moving along.

Fashionistas have now decamped from London and have descended on Milan its appropriately body mass indexed shows.

Prada, always a heavy hitter, gave us bold colors, funky footless socks and a few pairs of dramatic shades in the Autumn/Winter 2007 show. No thank you to Style.com, who did not include sunglasses in their "Detail Shots".

I rather like Freja Beha Erichsen's sunglasses.

Tiffany & Co. Enters the Sunglasses Arena

reak out the baby blue boxes!

Iconic jewelry house Tiffany & Co. has announced a partnership with sunglasses giant Luxottica Group SpA to launch a line of Tiffany sunglasses as early as 2008.
"Tiffany & Co. said Tuesday they signed a 10-year license agreement to provide for the design, manufacturing and worldwide distribution of eyewear under the Tiffany name.

The collections mark Tiffany's entrance into the eyewear market and are expected to be launched in early 2008.

The eyewear will be available at Tiffany stores and other retail locations in North America, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, key Middle East markets and Mexico."

Luxottica is already responsible for such eyewear lines as Bvlgari, Chanel, D&G, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan, Miu Miu, Prada, Ray-Ban and Versace.

Will Tiffany's eyewear be adorned with diamonds?!

Cheers, Eva!

va Longoria was photographed doing some post-Thanksgiving shopping in Los Angeles last week. Perhaps she was picking up an engagement present for Tony Parker?

[Source: SavingFace]
"Eva and Tony are officially engaged," Longoria's rep, Liza Anderson, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "The couple have never been happier."

Parker, a point guard for the San Antonio Spurs, flew into Los Angeles after his game on Wednesday night and surprised Longoria at her home as she got off work, according to the actress's rep, who added: "The proposal was romantic and perfect."

The couple plans to wed in France next summer in what they describe as a "big, happy ceremony with lots of family and friends."

Congratulations, Ms. Longoria! And what lovely Prada 75G sunglasses you have there! They look a bit like an aviator/oversized hybrid, no?
