What Seems to be the Problem, Officer TopShop?

In London this week, the TopShop Unique showed that there is such a thing as too much 80s influence.

Models (clockwise from top left) Alice Burdeu, Heloise Guerin, Jourdan Dunn and Sara Blomqvist showcased sunglasses made famous by the highway patrol. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Solglasögonen är från Topshop

s Uppsala, Sweden was my home whilst studying abroad, Stockholm street style is pretty near and dear to my sartorial heart.

That said, I have only just stumbled upon a site that was instantly bookmarked: stockholmstreetstyle.feber.se

All Moss, All the Time

n Wednesday, speculation was confirmed when it was announced that Kate Moss would, in fact, be designed a clothing line for UK-based TopShop. How excellent.

Earlier in the week, Ms. Moss put in some front-row time at the TopShop show along with Sir Philip Green, TopShop's owner, and his family.

Kate Moss' Reign as The Coolest Continues

ith the ink on her TopShop design contract still fresh, Kate Moss steps out in London donning some tasty flash.

Photographed on Tuesday, Ms. Moss looked quite fit in her cropped (non-skinny) pants, black flats, and Marc Jacobs "Lola 2" (023/S) sunglasses. My lady crush lives on.

The Top$

ir Philip Green restated his plans to bring the splendid UK-based TopShop chain to the States after a New York court ruled in his favor.

The US District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that Green's Arcadia Group owns all rights to the TopShop name. Thereafter, he announced his intention to recreate their Oxford Street, London flagship in the United States. The legal proceedings, while irksome, were not all negative:
"But what this litigation did was to reveal the vast amount of interest from all sectors in TopShop coming to America."

The TopShop brand offers an array of shades that mimic designer style, though perhaps not their UVA/UVB protection. Americans can look forward to their purely ornamental, low-cost flash.

The Metal Rim Visor Sunglasses at right are reminiscent of pairs made by Vogue Sunglasses:
Cost: £20
Color: Red frames with Grey lenses
Retailer: TopShop.co.uk

At left, these Square-Armed Sunglasses have open temples and a Nicole Ritchie-ish feel.
Cost: £15
Color: Green metal arms with Grey lenses
Retailer: TopShop.co.uk

While these shades will not be putting the Luxottica Group out of business any time soon, they are great in the same affordable, fashion-forward way that the rest of TopShop's merchandise is.
