The Web Loves Alexander Wang

If fawning blog coverage is any indicator, Alexander Wang has the title for this season's most successful sunglasses launch in the bag. In the past few weeks, New York championed his Zipper sunglasses as a "Best Bet", RackedNY found the extra pointy cat-eye look for a steal on eBay and Grazia interviewed the Linda Farrow geniuses responsible for the collaboration.

The fashion sites clearly love them, so now we'll just have to wait and see who gets photographed in them first. Smart money is on Gaga.

So, okay, I don't want to be a traitor to my generation and all, but I don't get Alexander Wang.

That said, I'm always stoked to see innovative sunnies on the runway. And with Fashion Week in full swing here in New York, I'll be keeping an eye out for them.

Can't help but think that the L.A. Times is spot on when it predicts: "And with his knack for starting trends, come fall, expect to see plenty of backpacks and velvet sunglasses on the scene."

From his storied after parties to the fashion legends who consider themselves fans, Alexander Wang has perfected the art of model-off-duty cool. So naturally, we're v. excited about the release of his sunglasses line, which is a collaboration with Linda Farrow. Opening Ceremony posted photos of the Spring 2010 shades last week.
