Matthew Williamson/Linda Farrow Sunglasses Rule. That is all.

So maybe some time has elapsed since my last posting. Sue me. But today I happened upon a super sweet deal on Matthew Williamson by Linda Farrow sunglasses on my favorite guilty pleasure, Gilt.com*. I'm so psyched about them, I really had to share.

Check out my soon to be delivered Oval Translucent Sunglasses in Aqua, which I picked up for $98 on Gilt (despite their original retail price of $300). I haven't come across such a fun and unique, yet completely wearable pair of designer sunglasses on sale for under $100 in what seems like forever ever.

* If you're not already a member of the wondrous daily sample sale that is Gilt, then: (1) I'm sorry; (2) You really should be, so comment and we'll get you set up; and (3) You'll thank me later.

Kat Von Zipper

never thought I'd be a sucker for Kat Von D's charms. But here I am, blogging about her and the sunglasses she consistently wears indoors on her reality tv show about tattooing and hanging with the likes of Steve O. Jackasses aside, I find her very likeable.

KVD (real name: Katherine von Drachenberg) favors white sunglasses, which I also don't normally go for. But I can't fault her for it. In a collaboration that practically writes itself, here she is in Von Zipper Dharma sunglasses. I also can't fault their $80 price tag on rememberdelaware.com.

Pretty Penny

ree People is joining the ever-expanding ranks of sunglasses retailers. I was pretty excited about this development, as you can never go wrong with a funky and inexpensive pair of shades. For under $25, there is no need to stress about losing, breaking or going out of style.

Bold Faced Names in Big Shades

arlier this week, Michael Kors hosted his Autumn/Winter 07 Ready-to-Wear line which featured a simple pairing of superlux materials (ie: cashmere and fur) with his signature glamorous Americana sportswear. And of course, some of the biggest names on the American runways.

Cathy Horyn had a similar take on the designer's show in her "Cutting to the Bone Without Angst" review:
"One look at the leggy models at Michael Kors’s show yesterday, at their tweed miniskirts, their luxe urban parkas, crocodile bags and swinging clean hair, and you sort of felt the designer was saying: “Oh, let’s not make it complicated. Decadence? Moral decay? Embrace it!”

The show was good clean fun, with the emphasis on classic fabrics like flannel and herringbone done in sexy shapes. A chestnut cable-knit cashmere dress spilled off the shoulders, and there were fur-trimmed parkas in Prince of Wales nylon as well minidresses and shrugs. It was Kors light and easy."

And the shades! While there was nothing revolutionary here -- men in aviators, oversized Jackie O's for the ladies -- the sunglasses enhanced the overall Aspen-chic feel of the show.
