For what its worth, Rachel Bilson was appointed Sunglass Hut's first "eyewear ambassador." She attended the opening of the 5th Avenue flagship this week and was profiled in WWD, saying: “I was very flattered when Sunglass Hut approached me to do this. I can’t say what makes me a good style adviser for them, but I am a huge sunglasses addict. I don’t leave the house without [a pair].”Despite Bilson's concerns about her qualifications, I think she was a natural choice for Sunglass Hut. As a front-row staple and regular paparazzi target, she's certainly more famous now for her style than for her acting. And she always looks great in her shades.
As ambassador, she'll blog on sunglasshut.com, host webchats and interview fellow celebrity collectors. We'll have to keep an eye out for her first video podcast (with Tory Burch) and hope she lands her ideal interview subject, Karl Lagerfeld.
