From the Archive of Oliver Goldsmith

've been a fan of Oliver Goldsmith for quite some time, but I became especially enamored when I read
that he had stated:
"I don’t believe in those theories about a certain style suiting a certain shape of face. Life is too short to worry about such things. If you find a shape you like, have it."
-Oliver Goldsmith, 1969

Below, some oldies but goodies from his archives:

Cuteness Burger has a GREAT post on Oliver Goldsmith, including a really fun commercial from the 80s.

Agy, Agy, Agy

ike any good fashionista, Agyness Deyn wears Linda Farrow sunglasses druing London Fashion Week. Like Corey Hart, she wears her sunglasses at night. [Rumor has it that pink eye was making the rounds among the models backstage.]

WhoWhatWear Daily detailed the specifics of her outfit
, including her Dolce Vita ankle booties.

Not surprisingly, Ms. Deyn is also the face of the collaboration between Linda Farrow and House of Holland.

Sunnies for Gents

hen GQ names its modern classics, take note. In "The New Standards", they name check Moscot Sunglasses, which are so fantastically vintage New York.
"The best thing about these vintage-minded sunglasses is that they’re not pretending to be retro—they are. “The design dates from the 1930s,” says Kenny Moscot, the label’s co-owner. “I just figured out a way to reproduce them.” Over the past year, Moscot has fully revamped the business that his great-grandfather launched in 1899, when he started selling glasses from a pushcart on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Lately, the company’s classic styles have been attracting what Moscot calls “a rich cast of characters,” from downtown scenesters to film stars like Denzel Washington. Just try on a pair. You’ll understand why."

Mulberry's Sunglasses Debut

was excited to read that Mulberry had announced a collaboration with Cutler and Gross to debut its sunglasses line a few weeks ago. The sunnies themselves have now hit the web and caught my eye.

"If the eyes are windows to the soul, this spring they're finally getting some appropriate dressing. For February, British label Mulberry launches its first collection of eyewear in collaboration with Cutler & Gross, which has revisited five of its classic styles from the '80s and '90s. From new wave wayfarers to something a little more sleek and minimal, the new lenses have us covered, right on time for the looming springtime sun."

Shocker. I like the cat-eyes. They are the Betsey model and they retail for £250 at mulberry.com .

Also, this isn't the first Cutler and Gross partnership that's caught my eye. Their partnership with DvF last year was big time chic.

His & Hers at Gucci

Season's Best

n my favorite sunglasses of fall news, Donatella Versace and her team have shown a pair that tops my current wishlist. Below, as they are seen on Jessica Stam, Michaela Kocianova and Viviane Orth.

And how great was it to see Daria Werbowy back on the runway!

Shoulder Pads Live at MaxMara

lso in Milan, MaxMara showed futuristic sunnies and a whole lot of shoulder.

Apparently, Natasha Poly isn't just for Gucci eyes only.

More Fendi

ith Raquel Zimmerman helming his SS08 advertising campaign, its obvious that Karl Lagerfeld likes his models super.

Fendi for Fall

nflappably cool Agyness Deyn walked Fendi's only A/W 08 sunnies down the runway in Milan this week.

Flying Jolie

eviewing many of the photos of the goings and comings of starlets at the New York Fashion Week tents, none seem as effortlessly chic as Angelina Jolie navigating the terminals of Heathrow.

Gucci 2785 aviators are a natural fit for taking to the skies. You can get your own for $175 at PerfumeFreeZone; they retail for $325 elsewhere.

Cat Eye on the High Street

igh street shops are just beginning to catch on to the cat eye trend, with this Forever 21 pair as my favorite of the forerunners.

For six bucks, they're a great way to try out the look.

Note their similarity to these retro Marc Jacobs sunglasses which retail for $330 at Neiman Marcus.

When WhoWhatWear Says "Sunnies," I Say, "How Bright?"

n my humble, day-to-day blog-reading routine, WhoWhatWear Daily is a staple. Their site is consistently polished and on-trend. Plus, they sweat Peaches Geldof like I sweat Peaches Geldof.

So when they recommend a pair of sunglasses, I take note, especially when they're designed by Karl Lagerfeld.

I was feeling oversaturated by wayfarers when Mr. Lagerfeld's SS 08 Collection came out, but now I am a bit remorseful for having not included the original runway show photos.

Please to enjoy:
